Nunos at The Express
About This Spot
Stepping into Nunos at The Express feels like finding a reassuringly familiar corner in a bustling place — an intimate Italian refuge tucked just a short walk from Gibraltar’s more trodden paths. The softly lit dining room moves at a gentle, unhurried pace, offering a quiet respite where conversation flows easily and the rhythms of daily life pause just enough to savor simple pleasures.
This relaxed neighborhood spot wears its authenticity lightly. The warmth comes not from ornate decor but from the genuine care woven into every detail — from the thoughtfully prepared plates to the friendly, attentive staff who remember your preferences like old acquaintances. It’s a place where locals and visitors alike find themselves returning, drawn by that comforting mix of genuine hospitality and culinary devotion.
The kitchen hums with the quiet confidence of an Italian chef who clearly values tradition as much as fresh ingredients. Whether it’s a richly flavored seafood risotto or a thoughtfully crafted pizza topped with the finest tomatoes and mozzarella, each dish feels like an invitation to slow down and enjoy food made with care. The flavors are straightforward yet expressive, capturing the heart of Italy without pretense.
Families feel welcome here too, as the easygoing staff find ways to make every visit smooth and relaxed, whether it’s providing a high chair or sharing recommendations for the day’s specialties. Nunos at The Express manages a balance between casual comfort and culinary finesse — the kind of place where every meal feels like a shared moment among friends.

Well deserved 5 star rating. I have visited Gibraltar quite frequently and since being recommended this restaurant by a local friend it rates top of my list of places to eat. It is located away from the main places to eat and drink next to the holidayinn express. Pasta dishes are so fresh, tasty and at a good price. I also have on several occasions gone with the chef specials as well. The staff know the menu well and I would also go with their recommendation even if it would not normally be something I would go for. Each time I have not been disappointed This trip I have eaten there as an individual and as a group. Service is greet and friendly Definitely put it on one of your places to eat you won’t be disappointed

I’m Italian and can honestly say that Nuno is the place to be in Gibraltar. The food is authentic and delicious, made with fresh ingredients. Simone, the Italian chef, brings real class to every dish. The staff are professional, friendly, and always welcoming, making every visit a true pleasure. If you want genuine Italian flavors and a great atmosphere, this is without doubt the best Italian restaurant in Gib.

Better than it looks from the outside. Attentive and friendly service. The food was good and all freshly made. They brought a high chair for our baby. Very happy to come back again.

Visited this restaurant 3 times over the course of a week and each time the meals and service were fantastic. Prices are reasonable and both the pizza and pasta are amazingly tasty. Handy location next to the Holiday Inn Express Gibraltar. I will go back many times when I am next in Gibraltar. Thank you.

We visited this lovely restaurant situated at The Holiday Inn Express @hi_ex_gibraltar and got to sample some of their bestsellers. We tried the following: 》Frutti di Mare (Seafood) Pizza | The quality of the mixed seafood (mussels, prawns, clams, squid) was top-notch. Combining it with the fresh tomatoes, mozzarella and parsley toppings were simply sublime. Me and my husband both agreed that it's one of the best seafood pizzas we've ever had, a must-try. 》Chicken Ravioli in Funghi Sauce | Never had ravioli with chicken filling before and this one did not disappoint. The funghi (mushroom) sauce complimented the freshly made pasta while the meaty filling was seasoned well, a hearty and satisfying dish. 》Panna Cotta | It was light and creamy, the fresh berries + fruit coulis that came with it was absolutely delightful. A gorgeous treat to finish off our meal. There was a live band playing when we visited on a Saturday night. A great place to unwind with the fam, friends or your S.O. while enjoying a scrumptious meal. Please visit this place if you're in the area, I highly recommend it.

Each dish we ordered was so tasty, the pasta was even better than I tried in Roma and Milano! Highly recommend this restaurant.

We chose this place for dinner as it was extremely close to the hotel. It was very quiet when we visited and the atmosphere was very relaxed. The waiter was polite and helpful and the food was served very quickly. We were amazed with the portions as they were huge. Lovely clean inviting restaurant.
